The Mississippi Highway Patrol has wrapped up its holiday travel enforcement period. We have the latest numbers of citations and arrests on the Coast. A former state lawmaker died today after being hospitalized with pneumonia from COVID-19. Nolan Mettetal was 75 years old. His wife, Kay Mettetal, said in a Facebook post on December 23rd that he was “in the hospital in Oxford fighting with COVID pneumonia in both lungs,” and posted today that he had died.
