Blind Tiger partners with CASA for holiday donation drive

Sharing is caring so don’t forget to donate to your favorite local charity this holiday season.

The Blind Tiger partnered with CASA of Hancock County for the fourth year challenging the community and local businesses to match dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

Thomas Genin, owner of the Blind Tiger, started encouraging other local businesses to donate.

CASA’s fundraising has increased over the years and with the help of the Blind Tiger each child they serve has a volunteer representative, but donations are still needed to repair the building after damages from Hurricane Zeta. Genin said, “This came about maybe four or five years ago. My wife and I wanted to make a donation to CASA than we thought that it was kind of a collaborative effort. We thought that by calling out other individuals and businesses that the $5,000 would get more exposure in the form of a challenge.”

CASA of Hancock County Executive Director Cynthia Chauvin said, “Almost immediately he asked where do I sign up, what do I do? As a parent and as a dad, I think it just resonated with him.”

CASA is still accepting donations throughout the holiday season. You can donate via Venmo or casahancockcounty.org.
