Beau Rivage donates 150 Christmas meals to Loaves and Fishes

The Beau Rivage partnered with Loaves and Fishes for their annual Christmas meal giveaway with the goal of helping those in need.

Bringing joy to those in the community this holiday season, the Beau Rivage and Loaves and Fishes partnered up to feed those in need.

The community kitchen needs help more than ever this year due to COVID and the hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. Loaves and Fishes Director Leslie Ramon said, “We have definitely seen our numbers increase since COVID started. There is a lot of people without jobs, lost their homes, or both. So, it means a great deal to us.”

Ramos is preparing for the annual Christmas party. Thanks to the Beau Rivage, she will be able to feed over 150 people who she calls her family. “So far we have had 66 sign up. I expect there to be more. So, it means a great deal to us to be able to serve them with food from the Beau.”

The Beau Rivage donates to Loaves and Fishes two or three times a year, but due to COVID-19 preparing and serving meals has been a little different. Assistant Executive Chef Kenneth Taylor said, “Before COVID we could go over there and serve food and cook food over there with them. It’s just a really good charity to give out too.”

The annual Christmas Day meal at Loaves and Fishes is from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and lunch will be served at noon. “For them to step up and provide all the food for the day is absolutely amazing.”
