MS Public University board bans COVID-19 vaccine requirements

The board that governs Mississippi’s public universities is prohibiting schools from requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for students and staff. The board took another vote because there was confusion over whether individual schools could choose to mandate the shots if they wished to. MSDH reports 1,557 cases of COVID-19 and 22 deaths statewide

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,557 cases of COVID-19 today and 22 deaths. Fifteen deaths occurred between September 14th and September 21st. Seven deaths occurred between August 25th and September 12th, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi’s total number of cases is now at 479,326 with 9,353 deaths. Forty-four year-old remains identified in Jackson County
