Across the Gulf Coast Friday, individual communities were honoring those whose lives were lost during Hurricane Katrina.

"Today marks the ninth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina’s landfall on the Mississippi Gulf Coast that resulted in the death of 232 Mississippians and billions of dollars of damage to businesses, homes, and infrastructure."
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (M.G.C.C.C.) has again been named a top associate degree producer in the nation, with 1,754 students receiving degrees in 2013.
