Jackson County Elections

In Jackson County, it’s all about the supervisors races in the wake of the failed Singing River pension plan. Many of the retirees are calling for the removal of sitting board members. Incumbents District 1 Supervisor Barry Cumbest and District 2 Supervisor Melton Harris are unopposed, along with District 3’s Ken Taylor who replaced Mike Mangum in the primary.
Looking to fill the District 5 supervisor seat, lost by John McKay in the primary, are Republican Randy Bosarge and two Independent candidates Jeffrey Knight and Allen Williams.
And in District 4, Republican and incumbent Troy Ross faces competition from Democrat Sean Alawine and Independent David Venus.
