3/15 Ryan’s “Last Wintry Night” Wednesday Forecast

We’ve had a warm season so far, but wintry conditions have moved in for one last-ditch effort to remind us all that it’s still Winter…for a few more days. Freeze Warnings remain for George, Stone, and Jackson Counties until Thursday morning; so please take precautions to protect your delicate plants and outdoor pets in these areas especially. Temperatures begin to warm as early as tomorrow afternoon, though they’ll remain cooler than “average” for another day or so. Expect a return to the 70s by St. Patrick’s Day (Friday), though cloud cover will remain minimal. A weak cold front is primed to move quickly towards the coastline Saturday night, but this front isn’t expected to have the forcing needed to push through, and will “wash out” overhead. Interaction with that front will bring some slightly cooler and drier air by Sunday, but only by a few degrees at the most so don’t expect any drastic changes through the weekend. Spring officially begins about an hour before sunrise on Monday, and the afternoon will be about as “springy” as it could possibly be, with a high in the mid 70s and moderate humidity.
