8/1 – Rob’s 1st Day of August Forecast
AS TD EMILY moves off the Florida east coast, an area of high-pressure in the W’tern Carolinas will dominate and shape our forecast through Wednesday. This past weekend’s cold front in the central Gulf of Mexico will move north into the area by Thursday morning. This will elevate rain potential to close out the workweek.
The stationary front will longer through the weekend and will be a focal point for minor impulses riding the boundary from west to east to bring periods of rain/t-storms. Models are indicating the potential for 2-4″ of rain Thursday through Sunday.
