01/01 Ryan’s “Happy 2018” Monday Evening Forecast
Happy 2018 South MS! We’re starting this year off on a frigid note, and little change is expected for the rest of the week. Tonight’s low will likely set a record by falling into the upper teens along the waterfront, but inland areas will be considerably colder with Wind Chills dropping into the single digits. Extra care should be taken to protect your home, pets, plants, and the elderly. We will begin to gradually warm each day and night through the rest of the week, but it won’t be until Saturday night that we’ll see an evening low warmer than 30 degrees, and afternoons will remain in the 40s until then as well. Despite this shockingly cold and dry weather, we’ll see plenty of sun all week long. Significant cloud cover doesn’t begin to show up until next Sunday as “return flow” sets up and southerly winds bring warmer, moist air into the region. Afternoon highs will climb into the 60s by then, but we’ll also see a decent chance of showers for the first time since Christmas as Monday rolls around.
