9/1 – Jeff’s “Unsettled At Times” Labor Day Weekend Forecast

Isolated to scattered thunderstorm activity will be around at some points overnight. There will also be the possibility for thunderstorms tomorrow morning until about 12 Noon. The unsettled pattern will stick around through the holiday weekend with the opportunity for windows of dry time.

A stationary front will linger in the area until the early-to-middle portions of next week. That will help provide for windows of rain chances all weekend. Efficient rainmakers are on the table as well with the potential for flash flooding in some spots. Rainfall is needed for South Mississippi so appreciable rain is a good thing.

There will not be total washouts so don’t hold off on any plans. In the tropics, there is a lot going on. Given that the peak of hurricane season is a week away, that is not surprising. There are no threats to the Mississippi Coast in the near term. One tropical wave bears watching but any implications for land are over a week out.
