8/4 – Jeff Vorick’s “Hot/Humid” Friday Evening Forecast

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for the majority of our area, with the exception of George and Stone County, until 7 PM. Regardless of alert, be sure to take care with the heat this evening. A 20% chance of rain cannot be ruled out before sunset but the heat and humidity will remain the issue.

It will remain very hot this weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect again from 11 AM until 7 PM for heat indices above 110 degrees. The same can likely be expected for Sunday. Rain chances will be isolated in nature with about 30-40% chances Saturday and Sunday.

The pattern will change and become more unsettled for the early to middle portions of the week. This will help take an edge off of the heat by Tuesday/Wednesday. Thunderstorm coverage will become more noticeable by this point.
