9/5 – Rob’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Expect hot and rain free forecast pretty much the next 5 days. Nothing has really changed much in the extended forecast. Dorian continues to slide north along the east coast and at was approaching the SC coast. Into Friday and through the weekend the oppressive heat is expected to continue. Even though a weak front will try to push into the area with drier air behind it dew-points just don’t appear to drop enough to really make a huge difference. Again with highs expected in the upper 90s to lower 100s it won’t take much to get those dangerous heat indices.

As for rain, this is not looking good. With the building ridge we see strong subsidence over the area and this should keep rain chance to 20% or below through the weekend. Heading into next week the ridge will continue to dominate the area as it build down into the southeastern U.S. and even eastern Gulf. This will continue to lead to very warm conditions with minimal rain chances.
