8/3 – Payton’s Friday Afternoon Forecast

A few thunderstorms to the south will continue to move to the north. With the frontal boundary that stalled in the area earlier this week will continue to wash out today, along with the upper level trough west of the area, there will still be enough influence from the trough, daytime heating and moisture to get a few showers and thunderstorms today. For the most part it will be fairly dry. This continues into the weekend as high pressure to the east pushes in rich moisture for the daytime heating to work with. Temperatures will begin to climb into the weekend and beginning part of next week as high pressure and upper level riding build in. This will also start to suppress rain chances Monday-Tuesday of next week. By the middle and end of next week we will start to see more showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Have a great weekend!

TROPICS: No tropical development is expected over the next five days.
