8/28 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

After a very stormy start to the morning, things are starting to calm down. A few downpours are still possible this afternoon, but the heaviest activity should remain just off to the west. It will be hot and humid today with heat index values in the lower 100s. This trend continues throughout the entire week with scattered thunderstorms each morning and afternoon. During the night shower activity will be near the coastal areas. This weekend we will have a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

TROPICS: A wave moving out of Africa does have a low chance of development as it moves to the west. It’s not a threat to the United States at this moment. It’s far out there and still has plenty of time to be watched. Continue to check back daily for an update on the tropics.
