8/20 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

Another cloudy start, but some sunshine is coming out. This is allowing downpours to develop and this will be the trend through today. Expect periods of heavy rain, lightning and some gusty winds. Tonight a few t-storms will be possible. The rest of the week looks fairly similar with daily showers and t-storms and some of it will be heavy at times. With this stormy pattern temperatures will run in the upper 80s. This weekend we’ll be watching a tropical wave move into the Gulf of Mexico. We don’t expect development over the next few days but later this week we’ll have to keep an eye on it as it heads to the north. Models give it a VERY LOW chance of development right now. No guarantees but it is August and we have to keep a close eye on these things. Regardless of development it’ll likely bring more moisture to the region, which means the possibility of heavy rain this weekend.
