7/25 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

After a good bit in the way of rainfall yesterday, and we’re already seeing heavy showers and thunderstorms across the area. The HEAVIEST rainfall/accumulation was recorded in N’tern Stone and Pearl River counties…in excess of 6″, the coastal counties saw an average of 1/2″.

Today will bring the same scenario with the activity in the area. An additional 2-4 inches of rain is not out of the question with the strongest storms. The strong moisture flow will develop the activity early morning through late afternoon. Showers & t-storms will affect the viewing area as flow from an area of high-pressure in the central Gulf of Mexico…will move the activity west to east. Rain chances start to decrease toward the end of the week, with temperatures very hot in the mid 90s. Rain chances return for the weekend as a cold front moves into the area.
