7/18 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

A typical summertime pattern for South Mississippi continues for most of this week. Showers & t-storms will be in the area most afternoons, with activity moving off shore during the overnight period. Further away from home Tropical Storm Don continues to turn out in the Atlantic. The storm is currently not a threat the the United States as it is expected to move off toward the West and weaken. Another disturbance in the Atlantic is being monitored for tropical development over the next two-five days. Overall for South Mississippi rain chances will start to decrease as we head toward the weekend, but afternoon shower and thunderstorms are still possible. Rain chances start to pick back up as we head into Sunday and the beginning of next week. Temperatures will remain right around normal in the lower 90s, but feeling like the upper 90s to lower 100s. Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.
