Today felt hot and humid enough, but we’re in for even more summer-like days ahead. Expect nothing but sunshine for the rest of the week and into the next. High pressure strengthens in the mid-and-upper levels, meaning sinking air and compressional heating are going to bring us much warmer weather.
Temperatures will be in the upper 80s by Wednesday, and into the low 90s by Thursday.
Warming air tends to be drier, but it will be humid enough to inch heat indices into the upper 90/low 100 degree range over the Memorial Day weekend. Throughout the forecast period we’ll see no active weather. Cloud cover will linger in the mostly clear/wispy range, and sunny days will be the norm. Enjoy the beautiful South MS weather, but stay hydrated and seek shade for the week ahead.
