12/17 Ryan’s “Coldest” Thursday Evening Forecast

Tonight will be the coldest night of the week, though we will see another cool down before Christmas. Expect tonight’s clear and calm conditions to allow for maximum cooling, leading to a low near 32. That means while only inland areas dropped close to freezing last night, almost every coastal location will get there tonight.

That also means it will be even more important to check your “Three Ps:” pets, plants, and pipes.

Please bring in those outdoor pets if you can, cover or bring in any sensitive plants, and wrap outdoor exposed pipes. Also, don’t forget to drip those indoor/outdoor faucets…a drip rate of 5-10 a minute should be enough.

Interestingly, while tonight will be the coldest of the forecast period, we begin a warming trend as soon as tomorrow.

So while today’s high was near 50, tomorrow’s will climb to around 57 degrees with sunny skies. The warming trend picks up over the weekend as our next front closes in, bringing weekend cloud cover and higher than average temperatures which last into next week.
