11/18 Ryan’s “Cold Front” Friday Night Forecast

A cold front is just hours away and we’re just now starting to see the outer cloud band moving into the NW corner of South MS. This system continues to “wash out” as it pushes further South and will likely not bring much, if any, rain to Gulfport. We’ll see an immediate drop in temperatures though, as Saturday afternoon will be nearly 15 degrees cooler than Friday afternoon was. Winds will remain strong through much of the day as cold air advection continues to flood the area with cooler, drier air, so expect some chilly nights ahead. Saturday night will fall to 40 on the water (mid 30s inland), while Sunday night will be the coldest we’ve seen since Spring with a low near 38 on the water (near freezing inland). Take precautions for outdoor pets and plants on these nights since frost is likely to form. Temperatures don’t take long to rebound though, after a cooler than average Monday we’ll be back into the 70s by Tuesday.
