10/4 – Payton’s Wednesday Morning Forecast
Drier air has moved into the area, and that means nice weather for the next few days. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies. Changes are on the way though. Rain chances look more and more likely into the weekend as we watch a few tropical disturbances move close to the area. If you plan on attending Cruisin’ the Coast events, or Gulfport Music Festival make sure to check the forecast daily.
With the tropical wave moving into the area, winds will once again
rise back to levels they have been for the last few days. This will
maintain higher than normal water levels along the coast going into
the weekend. If the main tropical feature were to move into the area
afterwards, winds would rise further and water levels would simply
rise on top of already heightened water levels. With a pass to the
east, this entire situation would change.
Rainfall is going to be an issue wherever this system comes ashore.
The heaviest rainfall tallies and strongest winds look to remain on
the eastern half of the system so in order to receive these
conditons, it would take the center moving over or just west of the
