10/18 – Payton’s Thursday Afternoon Forecast

After a cool start we are warming this aftenroon. The cold front is starting to washout in the Northern Gulf of Mexico,but we’ll be dry, sunny and have temperatures in the lower 80s to upper 70s. Friday will bring changes once again as moisture returns ahead of another cold front. Rain chances will start to go up Friday into Saturday and cloud cover will build in as well. By Saturday night the cold front approaches the area and will bring cooler and drier air by Sunday. This will be the coolest day with highs in the lower 70s! By Monday the forecast start to get more complicated as a non-tropical low is expected to develop in the Gulf near the Texas Coast. This will move toward the northeast, but depending on the exact track will determine the amount of rain we see next week. Right now we’ll go with increasing rain chances Tuesday into Wednesday. By the end of next week we’ll likely see another cold front move through as the low moves off the East Coast.
