08/29 Ryan’s “Katrina Anniversary” Wednesday Night Forecast
Today is the 13th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, a day which greatly influenced my future as a meteorologist. We’re not facing anything as destructive and dramatic, but we did have active weather move in as expected this afternoon. I’m still expecting very little change in this trend over the next few days as we finish of this week and begin the next.
THAT MEANS WE’LL SEE MORE, EVEN HEAVIER SHOWERS MOVING IN THROUGH TOMORROW AFTERNOON, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, AND EVEN ON LABOR DAY AS IT FINALLY BEGINS TO CLEAR UP A BIT MONDAY AFTERNOON.
Severe weather is not anticipated during these days, but the rainfall will begin to add up and some flash/localized flooding issues may become a concern. Expect to begin seeing a little more son as we head into the middle of next week, but afternoon showers will continue.
