06/06 Ryan’s “Damp” Thursday Forecast

Showers and thunderstorms continued through this afternoon, so South MS remains damp and cloudy. Don’t expect this to change anytime soon either.

We are seeing a short-lived break in the cloudy skies now that the tropical wave has moved away, but another low is already moving in.

This one will move in tomorrow and will linger in the Southeast. So from Friday to Saturday, it will essentially churn in place over North MS/Central TN. This will keep ample moisture, instability, and large scale lift over South MS, so expect little change in the current conditions through Sunday. By Monday another front will have moved in from the Northwest and will push all of this activity East, ultimately bringing sunny weather back by the middle of next week.
