04/08 Ryan’s “90+ Heat Index” Wednesday Forecast

The heat index rose into the low 90s earlier today thanks to the high humidity and temperature in the mid 80s. The first half of tomorrow will be similar, but change isn’t far away. That’s because a cold front is moving in and it will bring cooler, drier air into South MS.

The front will move through tomorrow afternoon, so until then expect another hot and humid day with a high near 86.

Afterwards, clouds will clear some and daytime highs will fall from the mid 80s into the low-to-mid 70s. Overnight lows will cool into the low 60s and upper 50s, but cloud cover and rain chances don’t go far. Another front is developing to the west, and it’ll bring potentially severe storms by Saturday evening. It’s too early for specifics, but I’d anticipate at least a “slight” risk at this time. Stay tuned to News 25 for further developments.
