03/11 Ryan’s “Subtle Changes” Monday Evening Forecast

We’ve seen several warm and humid days in a row but we’re finally starting to see some subtle changes. A weak cold front is just north of South MS and is moving closer. This front is just passing through as I’m writing this, and slightly cooler and drier air is already moving in on the back of a brisk northerly wind. I described these changes earlier as subtle for a reason though, so temperatures and dewpoints won’t drop all that much. These changes won’t last very long either.

Almost as soon as the front moves through it transitions into a warm front and begins moving northward.

This will bring a surge of warm, moist air back to South MS through Wednesday and Thursday as our next front moves in. This next front will arrive Thursday afternoon and brings a “marginal” threat for severe weather at this time. We’ll continue to monitor that situation as it develops, but regardless we’ll see a strong ridge building in behind the front, so sunnier days are ahead!
