02/16 Ryan’s “Warming…Barely” Tuesday Night Forecast

It’s still going to be exceptionally cold tonight, but you can feel a little better at least knowing we are warming…barely. Expect to climb from the low 20s last night, into the upper 20s for tonight, with less of a wind chill as the wind weakens. There aren’t many clouds now, but we’ll see them increase into the early morning hours of tomorrow ahead of our next frontal system.

So expect cloudy skies by the late morning with showers moving in during the afternoon and thunderstorms likely in the evening.

This event does carry a “slight” (level 2 of 5) risk of severe weather, so be cautious as it passes through. Showers will linger into Thursday morning, but will begin to dry up shortly after. Expect rapidly clearing skies and cooling temperatures, falling below freezing by Thursday night. This second round of freezing air lasts through the weekend, but things will be much warmer and more sunny next week.
