02/08 Ryan’s “Increasing Clouds” Thursday Night Forecast

I hope you were able to get out and enjoy the sun today, because it was the only sunny day we’ll get this week as increasing clouds and showers move in quickly. Most of tonight will remain mostly clear, but after midnight we’ll begin seeing clouds thickening rapidly and even see some patchy fog developing in the early morning hours. I don’t expect much rain tomorrow, having only given it a 30% chance, but a few showers will certainly pop up. Expect the rain to increase in frequency and intensity as Saturday rolls around, with thunderstorms expected to begin in the afternoon and continue through Sunday and into the beginning of next week. None of the storms are expected to be severe, but over 3″ of rain is likely to fall between Saturday night and Monday afternoon so watch for localized flooding and the potential for Flash Flood Watches/Warnings. The shower chances begin to taper off by Mardi Gras, but showers and mostly cloudy skies will linger into at least the middle of the week.
