01/01 Ryan’s “Happy 2020” Wednesday Forecast
2020 started off quietly, but our first round of active weather is rapidly approaching. This evening will remain in the mid-to-upper 50s for the next few hours, but expect significant overnight warming. This will be due to a warm front passing through as a low develops to the west, and it won’t be in any hurry to leave thanks to upper level features.
Isolated, then scattered showers will increase in frequency for the first part of the day, but as time goes on it will become more organized.
Expect between 1-2″ of rain locally, with significantly higher totals to the north. The area is under a “slight” risk of severe weather, with heavy rains and damaging winds being most likely. Stay tuned to WXXV for updates, and prepare for a sunny and beautiful weekend afterwards.
