Wednesday Afternoon Forecast and Update on Tropical Storm Dorian
FORECAST: Hot and humid this afternoon with a Heat Advisory for the coastal counties until 6 PM. By this evening a cold front will move into the area and that could help produce a few t-storms. Drier air filters into the area by Thursday and Friday and it will feel much more pleasant outside although it’ll still be hot. This weekend moisture returns and rain chances bump back up.
TROPICS: Dorian is very close to being a hurricane this morning. The current forecast isn’t good news for Florida as the storm might not see much disruption from Puerto Rico. It’s possible we have a major hurricane in the Atlantic by this weekend moving toward the Florida Peninsula. HOWEVER, there are still a lot of unknowns about the exact track of this system as we head into the weekend. While it’s not likely we see impacts here along the Central Gulf Coast, the chances still aren’t zero. If you live from the Central Gulf Coast to the Carolinas you should monitor this storm very closely. A lot of different scenarios could play out with Dorian.
