08/24 Ryan’s “Mid-Week Rain” Tuesday Night Forecast

More rain than we've been seeing will start to move in tomorrow, which will lower our very high temperatures.

Today saw only isolated evening activity, but there’s more rain ahead for South Mississippi starting mid-week. I don’t expect much more in terms of coverage for tomorrow, but the amount that falls will be heavier. A “marginal” risk for flooding has been issued for tomorrow for this reason, as localized areas could see significant accumulations. By Thursday our rain chances…

A “marginal” risk for flooding has been issued for tomorrow for this reason, as localized areas could see significant accumulations. By Thursday our…

8/24 – Rob Knight’s “HOT & HUMID” Afternoon Forecast

Upper level high-pressure is expected to weaken slightly over the next few days. Southerly surface winds will help to advect warm air and moisture into the region, which will help enhance lifting and humidity in the environment. As a result, any rain that occurs will not be very efficient and will not produce as high of rainfall rates. Isolated to…

08/23 Ryan’s “Slightly Cooler” Monday Night Forecast

Considerably warmer than average weather has been in place for several days, but things will be getting back to "normal" very soon.

Things have been consistent recently in South MS, but much wetter and slightly cooler trends are moving in. Neither is going to be a very drastic shift. Certainly nothing like we saw through June and July, but it will be wetter than average. In terms of my forecast that means more 30% and higher afternoons where we’ve been lingering in…
