6/11 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

The dry and clear weather pattern we saw for the end of last week has come to an end. High pressure to our northeast continues to give of southeasterly flow, which has increased the moisture for much of the region. As the moisture interacts with the daytime heating, showers and thunderstorms will be possible each day this week. This pattern is typical in the summer months as storms develop in the afternoon before decreasing in coverage as the sun sets. Storms with gusty winds, lightning and heavy downpours are possible each day, but widespread severe weather is not expected. Highs will be around normal for this time of year in the mid to upper 80s. Lows will be slightly above average in the mid 70s.

Moisture flow continues into the weekend as an upper level system will approach the area. This will increase the rain chances as we head into the weekend. Highs continue to be right around normal in the mid to upper 80s, and lows in the mid 70s. The end of the weekend looks like there could be some drying as rain chances decrease slightly into Sunday.
