1/17 – Jeff Vorick’s “Another Cold Night” Wednesday Evening Forecast

Temperatures tumble this evening again but one thing that will help us tonight is light winds out of the east/southeast. While winds will fluctuate, temperatures will be milder. Along/south of Interstate 10 may avoid freezing temperatures while inland locations will avoid a widespread hard freeze. Still take necessary precautions with the cold temperatures but it will be better than last night.

Cloud cover increases overnight especially towards daybreak. Winds will be out of the southeast tomorrow which could set the stage for sea fog to roll in. Recently-chilled shelf waters will allow for this to happen. Other than that, expect a 30% chance of light rain in the afternoon that will also carry into the overnight hours ahead of your Friday.

Rain chances will come to an end before daybreak Friday as a cold front will move through the area. The reinforcing shot of colder air will provide for a cold and windy Friday. This weekend will bring hard freezes Friday and Saturday night, along with frigid days on Saturday and Sunday.
