6/2 – Jeff Vorick’s “Clearing” Friday Evening Forecast

Fairly quiet conditions were around today. High pressure nearby is helping to keep things relatively quiet in the pattern for our region. Very spotty rain chances will come to an end this evening. Cloud coverage will dissipate gradually as well. Expect mild temperatures and humidity to remain in place for our area.

Tropical Storm Arlene remains weak and well away from our area. It will gradually dissipate over the southern Gulf of Mexico into this weekend.

Tomorrow will bring the potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Coverage will not be widespread but have the umbrella handy. Hot temperatures with heat indices nearing 100 degrees are very much on the table for much of the extended period. Sunday will provide for drier times outside of a stray shower.

The pattern will change in a bigger way for next week. The storm track will sag southward which will mean that fronts and systems are in the area. That will help to provide for more in the way of consistent rain chances next week. Monday looks to bring the potential for numerous thunderstorms.
