9/26 – Payton’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

The trough of low pressure that has been giving us elevated rain chances will do so for one more day. The best chance for showers and thunderstorms will be this morning and into the afternoon. The trough will continue to weaken though and leave us with hot and humid conditions for the remainder of the week with little rain chances. A cold front is on the way to South Mississippi as we head into Friday, but it will not bring too much cold air with it. Temperatures will be a few degrees lower into the weekend, but the northerly dry air will make it feel more comfortable. There is a slight chance of rain this weekend into the beginning of next week as a disturbance moves into the area. The tropics continue to be quiet for South Mississippi, but Hurricane Maria and Lee continue to move off in the Atlantic.
