9/3 Monday Night Tropical Update

Tropical Storm Gordon continues to maintain its strength as its winds are sustained at 60 mph as it moves into the Gulf of Mexico. At the moment the National Hurricane Center still has Gordon strengthen to a weak category one hurricane with winds of 75 mph and making landfall in South Mississippi. Hurricane Warnings and Storm Surge Warnings continue for the coastal counties. Tropical storm warnings for the interior counties. This storm could also produce 3-5 feet of storm surge. In most locations highway 90 site around 8-9 feet. Flash flooding will also be a concern as we have picked up a lot of rain over the past couple of weeks. The area could see 4-8 inches with isolated 12+ inches.  Any preparations you are doing for the storm will need to be completed as soon as possible Tomorrow afternoon and evening gusty winds will start to increase. Any hurricane force winds look to hold off until around Tuesday night into Wednesday mornings.
