9/25 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast
Another hot and humid day with showers and thunderstorms. We do have a cold front in the Plains making its way our direction. It will be moving into the state tomorrow and eventually closer to South Mississippi by Wednesday night. It will bring increasing clouds and rain chances for your Wednesday. It will stall around the area and stick around for a day or so. That will keep rain chances elevated into Thursday under cloudy skies. It won’t rain nonstop all day, but on and off heavy showers and thunderstorms will be likely. Into Friday the front begins to wash out and we will start to see more sunhsine, but rain chances will stick around. Into the weekend there will still be a chance for a few thunderstorms, but rain chances will be somewhat low. Temperatures will climb back up to the upper 80s this weekend.
TROPICS: Tropical Wave Kirk is to the East of Lesser Antilles. It will likely reorganize into a tropical system over the next several days. It still doesn’t appear like it will be much though. Post tropical Leslie will likely redevelop into a tropical cyclone later this week and pose a threat to no one. A disturbance of the East Coast has a medium chance of development. It will likely bring rough seas and more rain for the Carolinas, but it’s not expected to strengthen into much.
