9/14 – Rob’s VERY HOT “Final Weekend of Summer” Forecast

The large tropical wave over the western gulf will provide a significant reason for eventually steering Florence. Although the wave will continue to progress westward, the moisture and heat associated with the wave will begin to stream northward into Oklahoma late today into Saturday.

This will also help allow Florence to feel that weakness and begin to move west then north over the coming days. Not an issue locally, but Florence will help provide some relatively drier days ahead as the western portion of the ridge raps in and southward of the hurricane. Thunderstorms will still occur each day but should be fewer and fewer with each day into next week.

In turn, this final weekend of Summer will bring July/August heat to the region as the mercury is expected to climb into the mid 90s…
