9/11 – Rob Knight’s “9/11 Anniversary” Forecast

In the local area, deep moisture will remain through Wednesday but a very slow lowering of showers/t-storms numbers will begin toward the end of the week possibly continuing into next week. Again, as with any given day in the summer, one or two of these storms could drop some very heavy rainfall causing low lying and poor drainage areas to flood.

The Atlantic continues to be littered with tropical disturbances and cyclones.

The closest to our area would be the convective burst near the Yucatan Straits. This feature has been given a 30% and 60% of development over the next 48 hrs and 5 days respectively. Movement should remain northwestward affecting the northwest or western gulf coast. Hurricane Florence will help squeeze the Bermuda high over the east coast causing it to extend farther south and east causing any weak disturbance to stay west of the area.
