8/29 – Jeff Vorick’s “Scattered Thunderstorms Early/Tracking Idalia” Tuesday Evening Forecast

Showers and thunderstorms are in our area. Expect for them to continue to be scattered in nature this evening. Overnight, activity will gradually come to a close and for skies to clear somewhat. It will be mild out the door tomorrow and humidity will be on the downswing with northeast winds.

Hurricane Idalia will be making landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida tomorrow, potentially as a major hurricane. Areas between Tallahassee and Gainesville will see hurricane conditions, and 10 – 15 feet of storm surge in coastal areas. Idalia will then push northeast through Georgia and the Carolinas.

A few clouds to at times cloudy skies and hot conditions, with lower humidity can be expected tomorrow and Thursday. The pattern gradually returns to the normal summertime regime with heat, humidity, and thunderstorm chances by Friday.
