8/18 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast
Starting the week off stormy. Monday will feature showers and t-storms throughout the morning and afternoon. Some could produce very heavy rain, a lot of lightning and gusty winds. The severe weather threat is low, but flash flooding is certainly possible if any areas get stuck under one of the t-storms. Tuesday and Wednesday will be very similar with a few less t-storms. The good news is the temperatures will max out in the upper 80s if the rain starts falling early enough. The remainder of the week looks similar with afternoon downpours with some heat and humidity. By this weekend we’ll have to watch how a tropical waves evolves in the Western Gulf of Mexico. It’s possible it sends a plum of moisture into the area, which could mean higher rain chances this weekend.
