8/17 – Payton’s Friday Morning Forecast

More typical summertime weather for your Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop through the morning and afternoon hours. A few could produce gusty winds, and almost all will have heavy rain and lightning. Going into this evening for Friday Night Football, a few thunderstorms could still be in the area, so keep that in mind. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors. You don’t want to be outside if you can hear thunder or see lightning. Going into the weekend much of the same pattern with showers and thunderstorms expected through the morning, afternoon and evening hours.

TROPICS: A tropical wave to the east of the Leeward Islands will continue to move toward the west. It will struggle to develop into an organized system as the conditions aren’t favorable for tropical cyclone development. As always we will keep a close eye on things, and bring you updates as needed.
