8/16 – Payton’s Thursday Afternoon Forecast

More showers and thunderstorms are expected as we go into the afternoon. They won’t be moving all that much, so flash flooding could become a concern depending on where the thunderstorms develop. They could also produce gusty winds. This continue into Friday and into the weekend, with showers and thunderstorms likely during the afternoon hours. Going into next week not a lot of change, as chances for thunderstorms continue.

TROPICS: A tropical wave to the east of the Lesser Antilles will continue to move to the west pretty quickly. Because of the fast movement and unfavorable conditions, chances of tropical development are fairly low.
