8/16 – Payton’s Friday Night Forecast
A calm evening as things finally cool down after highs climbed into the mid to upper 90s. Tonight will remain dry and calm, but Saturday will feature some changes. The moisture will be returning along with rain chances. Expect a few t-storms during the afternoon with heat index values over 105 for many locations. Sunday will be similar with even higher rain chances. Next week looks fairly typical with the heat and humidity continuing with afternoon t-storms possible. By the end of next week we’ll have to keep an eye on the tropics and maybe a weak disturbance trying to work its way into the gulf, but there’s not guarantee on that.
TROPICS: A surface low developing over Florida has a low chance of development as it moves along the East Coast. This will bring more rain to Florida, and coastal areas from Georgia to the Carolina’s.
