6/6 – Rob’s Tuesday Morning Forecast

The tropical airmass that has been sitting over the area will continue to do so for today and tonight. Because of this and a low pressure system moving overhead, rain is likely this afternoon and evening. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but a few heavy showers with gusty winds and lightning are possible. Major changes on the way as a cold front will move through South Mississippi late tonight into early Wednesday morning. A few lingering showers are possible tomorrow morning, but we will dry out through the afternoon and evening hours.

High pressure moves in behind the front on Thursday, which will bring lower humidity and clear skies for both Thursday and Friday. Scattered clouds are expected Saturday as moisture returns to the area, but will remain dry. Rain chances do return to the forecast on Sunday and for the beginning of next week as a warm front moves into the area.
