6/28 – Rob’s Friday Morning “Wetter Conditions” Forecast

An area of high-pressure positioned across the Desert Southwest to Central/Northern Plains with another one east of the region over the Bahamas. This leaves the central Gulf Coast in a weakness region between those 2 regions. In addition, an easterly wave will be passing across the forecast area today through Sunday. This setup will be conducive for increased afternoon thunderstorms activity.

Saturday and Sunday initially present themselves like today but with less coverage, but rather scattered to numerous storms across the entire forecast area as the easterly wave passes from east to west across the area. This pattern will begin to transition into a drier one  early next week and possibly longer as the easterly wave continues west while high-pressure develops across the central and eastern Gulf Coast states.
