6/21 – Rob Knight’s “1st Day Of Summer” Forecast

A plume of moisture west of our area will continue to stretch to the NE ahead of a cold front currently moving through Nebraska and Oklahoma. The moisture will get forced to the east into the northwestern sections of the region later this morning. Activity today will be moving rather quickly. Temps should remain stable where the dense cloud cover remains through the day. The ridge to the east will be stubborn to give way and as the showers/t-storms move into it, they will begin to weaken and dissipate later today.

We will find drier conditions heading into the 1st weekend of Summer as that ridge will become more dominant.

The convective temp will fall back a bit today and this could give rise to some nocturnal showers/t-storms near the coast tonight and possibly the next few nights. But during the coming days, the heat will begin again.
