6/19 – Payton’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

With so much moisture in place, it should be easy for isolated showers and thunderstorms again today, mainly to our west…with minimal activity along the viewing area.

Any showers or thunderstorms that do develop could produce very heavy rainfall since a lot of moisture is in the area.

On Wednesday, high-pressure will spread SW across the Gulf of Mexico from Florida westward. Although subsiding air will move in from the Gulf, we will still have enough moisture in place for slight rain chances around 20/30%. This trend continues into the weekend with pop up showers and thunderstorms possible during the afternoon hours. Heat index values will feel close to 100 degrees.
