6/18 – Payton’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Tropical moisture will continue to move into the area providing for extensive cloud coverage. This could also bring bands of rain and windy conditions at times. Activity should be isolated at the most with stronger winds in the outer-coastal waters. A relaxed onshore flow pattern should persist Tuesday through next weekend to provide more typical daily rainfall chances/coverage and warmer than normal temperatures high pressure builds into the area.

The low moving through the Western Gulf of Mexico will bring heavy rain to Texas, and further development of the system is not expected. Heavy rain will be the main impact for the Lone Star State.
