6/1 – Rob’s “1st Day of Tropical Storm Season” Forecast

No major changes in the forecast this morning. High pressure will be the driving force in the forecast for the next couple of days. The area should remain mostly dry as the high will suppress convective development across the region.

Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90’s today. The hottest days in this stretch should be Saturday and Sunday…with Heat indices well into the lower 100’s but not high enough to warrant a heat advisory.

Guidance still points to a weak front moving through the forecast area late Sunday into Monday. We will continue to carry precipitation chances for this time frame. A few of those storms could be strong or severe. Next week look for a warm typical summer time pattern under northwest flow. Look for afternoon showers and storms each day next week with highs into the lower 90’s.
